Take a Stand

Picture this: Your six year old child is bullying other children in the neighborhood and running amok. Would you sit idly by? Would you spank your disobedient child with the intention of scaring him/her into behaving correctly? Or would you sit your child down and ask why these aggressive behaviors are coming out while trying to understand him/her? Would you choose to devise a plan to work together in figuring out another activity to harness these aggressions for a more positive outcome?

Due to the recent events striking our Federal Government we know that our system is not flawless. Who is to blame? The "bigwigs" sitting cozily in the Senate? Our elected President? Maybe the huge corporations that we keep feeding into?

The information we seek on improving our government is out there. Do we sit idly by and pretend that we will not be heard or that our opinion does not matter? Or can we take responsibility for our own government, and  educate ourselves on the problems that led us down this spiraling path?

When you let others make decisions for your future how often is your voice heard? How can we as a whole learn from our mistakes when we do not know and understand the issues at hand? Again the information is out there. It's up to us to get educated on how our government is handled.

Our founding fathers would expect nothing less but our utmost respect in paying attention to the matters at hand. We as a nation need to rectify our government. As citizens of our great country we need to learn how to harness our strengths. Grant it our system is not flawless but with the right education for each and everyone along with taking the responsibility to get the word out there we can take a stand.

Start one.

Brothers and Sisters how long are we going to allow this blanket of lies and deception be draped over our eyes? It's understood, yes, not everyone in congress is corrupt but to quote a very intelligent person from my life,                                                                                                                                                                    "If you place a clean article of clothing in a dirty clothes hamper it will eventually become dirty as well."

Once upon a time France gave the United States a gift. This beautiful gift symbolized the freedom of the United States. Now due to our own ignorance of  congress our federal government is going to close National Parks across the United States. Our country is broke.

I don't know about your current situation, all I know is that every day my family and I make ends meet while being able to still pay our State and Federal taxes and now we are being told that we might not be able to visit the very park dedicated to the very beginning of our country.

Now there is speculation that our troops that have been sent overseas might not be paid? How much are they getting paid? Currently the average annual salary for a Marine Corps infantry soldier is $46,000. They are on the front lines putting their lives on the line every day.

In 2007 the average pay for a senator was $165200 a year.

Something is wrong here.
